I NEED to do that!

Let me start off this post by telling you a very cute story about my niece.
She's 3 years old and very precocious!
She makes me laugh all the time.

Including this time ~ my mother (her grandmother) made cupcakes & let her & her sister frost & decorate them with sprinkles, doo-dads, colored sugar, etc. Suffice it to say that the table & floor was a mess. A good time was had. A couple of months later she was visiting again & the 'toppings' were on the counter waiting to be put away from being pulled out of the pantry to look for something behind them. She looked at me, pointed to them and simply told me, "I NEED to do that."

Which leads me to showing you the box and cards we made at the card making class I demonstrated at Glendora Library.

This box was actually made by me because I needed 21 boxes and only had 19. So, I sat down and designed the box & it (amazingly) looked very much like the 'bought' ones.

"Green" Chipboard

A while back a friend asked me where I got my chipboard. I told her that the majority came from my work; on the backs of writing tablets, when we get logo paper for our printers, some of our flyers come in 'pads' & there is chipboard to keep them from bending/getting ruined.

I work full time in an office and the chipboard comes in many different textures & thicknesses.

So, I collect them all and take them home to be used in my favorite toy; My Sizzix Big Shot.

We also talked about 'going green' and that was the theme for our last Shoebox Swap.

So, my project used 'green' chipboard and (of course) my favorite toy, the Sizzix Big Shot.

Also, I've been collecting my oatmeal boxes, cereal boxes, gift boxes, etc (anything made out of chipboard) to use & I cannot tell you how much chipboard there is right at your fingertips!

I found the idea here...

If you're going to cover the chipboard with Designer Series Paper, why not use the 'green' stuff?

Me? ~ I'd rather save my money and purchase more stamps. lol

And, when you get a gift box from someone, use that too. I got the cutest one in black with white polka dots. Now, how cute would that be to use that for a die cut flower?

Fun with Crafts at Glendora Public Library

Have I ever told you that I love my library? I 'think' I have...lol.

Friends of the Glendora Library Foundation has invited me to teach card making and scrapbooking classes for a couple of years. Well, we have had leftover packets just sitting there collecting dust.

....what to do....what to do.....??

Have a Fun with Crafts day!
